Thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to consider Bishop Baraga Catholic School (BBCS) as an investment in your child’s future.  

BBCS is a preschool through eighth grade school in which prayer punctuates the day. Each morning, we begin our day with prayer.  At 12:00 p.m. the Angelus is said over the loud speaker, often lead by students.  Students attend Mass twice a week as a school (K-8), participate in the sacrament of Confession, have class visits to the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, and spend time each day learning to practice virtue.

Structure and discipline are also a mainstay here at BBCS.  We have a strict code of conduct. We strive to foster the virtues in every student.

In our early elementary we have the Superkids Reading Program, a comprehensive phonics, writing, grammar, and reading program.  We boast a comprehensive 3rd-8th grade grammar series, a wonderful reading and writing curriculum featuring many classics in literature, and an elite math program called Singapore Math.  Mathematics and reading are the basis for science, therefore as a school we take great pride in producing students who excel in both.  Our staff is very excited to teach your child.  Please schedule a tour today!

Bishop Baraga Catholic School will establish itself as the school of choice in the Iron Mountain/ Kingsford area.  We will do this by focusing our professional attention on religious formation as well as schooling our students in phonics, grammar, mathematics, and all the subjects that make us a vibrant and distinctively Catholic school.
